A Note to Parents on Residential Courses

At Coláiste Laighean we will do our very best to ensure that your child has a memorable and beneficial course and that he or she returns home safe and content. It is our primary aim to look after each and every student on the course and we ensure that they are fully supervised at all times. No risks will be taken in this area, and should a student put himself or others in any danger, he will be removed from the course immediately.

There will be a teacher assigned to each accommodation area who will be on call at all times throughout the night should he or she be required.

In addition there will be a Cinnire (supervisor) assigned to each accommodation area to attend to the students and to encourage them to speak Irish at all times.

To help ensure the safety of your child CCTV is in operation 24 hours a day. As part of its Child protection policy,  all Coláiste Laighean teachers and supervisors are Garda Vetted. The Coláiste’s nominated Child Protection Officers and Anti Bullying Coordinators are Mr Seán Culligan and Mr Fergus Duggan, members of the teaching staff of Coláiste Laighean.
